Tulloch Reservoir Reopening & Updated AIS Protocols – Effective April 16, 2025

Tri-Dam Project is pleased to announce that the reservoir has officially reopened for boating as of April 16, 2025.

Please note: Access is currently limited to designated launch sites only.
To view a list of approved boat launch locations, please visit -Banding Locations - Tri-Dam Project

Boating is permitted for those who comply with the updated Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Banding Prevention Plan Protocols. These protocols outline how to prepare your vessel for inspection and launching. Full details are available HERE

Key Requirements

  • Clean, Drain, and Dry:
Every vessel must be completely clean, drained, and dry:
    • Prior to the initial 30-day banding inspection
    • Every time the vessel is launched

This critical step helps prevent the introduction and spread of invasive species and is required at all access points.

Important Update on Banding Acceptance

Previously, bands from certified outside locations were accepted within the 30-day quarantine window (e.g., a band applied on April 10 would be valid through May 10).

Starting May 16, 2025:

  • Bands from non-partner sites will no longer be accepted.  Approved sites will honor bands from outside banding sites until this date.
  • Only 30-day quarantine bands that can be verified in the national banding database will be honored
  • Same-day bands will not be accepted under any circumstances

Launch Site Participation

Banding Locations - Tri-Dam Project

While we invited all local partners and private marinas to join this prevention effort, not all chose to participate. As a result, public access will not be available through non-participating locations. See locations on the side banner.

If you are unsure whether your marina or business is part of the program, please reach out to them directly for clarification.

Decontamination Station Coming Soon

We are actively working to install a vessel decontamination station, which will provide another method to help boaters meet AIS compliance standards. More details will be shared soon.
