Tulloch Reservoir Closure

Notice Regarding Quarantine Banding for Tulloch Reservoir - Update - April 9, 2025

Due to the current closure of Tulloch Reservoir, Tri-Dam is temporarily accepting quarantine bands from other lakes for watercraft entering Tulloch once the reservoir reopens. However, only red 30-day quarantine bands that are recorded in the Watercraft Inspection Database (WID) system will be accepted.

Tri-Dam has not directed boaters to any specific locations for banding, as there is no formal agreement in place with other reservoirs. While some boaters have opted to visit nearby lakes, such as New Melones, for banding due to their participation in the WID system, we strongly recommend that boaters refrain from visiting New Melones for banding, as their systems are not intended for Tulloch Reservoir. If New Melones was the only local option available, boaters will need to wait until Tulloch Reservoir reopens to receive their quarantine bands.

Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Prevention Efforts  Update - March 20, 2025

Following our recent board meeting, Tri-Dam is providing an update on our ongoing efforts to protect the reservoir and implement a banding prevention plan.

Key updates:

  • The board has adopted Resolution 2025-05 for the Aquatic Invasive Species Program, including the policy and procedures.
  •  The proposed Waiver, Release, and Indemnity Agreement was not approved as presented. We will be working with stakeholders to revise and finalize a unified agreement.

Once all stakeholders reach a unified  agreement, it will not require additional board approval.

What this means moving forward:

  •  The reservoir remains closed until a single agreement is finalized and signed by all parties.
  • Banding implementation cannot begin until this unified agreement is in place—there will be no separate agreements for different sites.
